Arnab Goswami ,the Republic tv anchor was allegedly attacked on the night of 22nd April, 2020 while he was on his way home with his wife. The alleged attack came the day after Arnab's controversial comments on Congress President Sonia Gandhi regarding the recent Palghar incident.Being a media person its Goswami's freedom of speech which allows him to say whatever he wants, but making communal comments which can lead to hatred between two or three religious communities and alleging anyone without any proof is a criminal act.He also claimed that the 2 attackers on that night first tried to break his car's windowpane but failed, later ink was thrown on his car but Goswami being the editor and majority owner of the news channel Republic TV , is provided with Y category security . As soon as the incident took place his bodyguards nabbed the attackers and came to know that they were congress workers. Although, there are false claims by Gaurav Pandhi, IT cell member of INC saying that, the video Arnab telecasted after the incident, was shot way before the incident took place which actually isn't true or valid. The metadata of the video also doesn't prove Pandhi's statement as it can be edited as per editer's own will but Arnab's variable statements on this case are a major point to discuss. He is changing his statements metaphored with chameleon. As per his channel's statement the incident took place at the hospital door from which Mr & Mrs Goswami were getting out . Later on he said he was attacked 500 meters away from his home and again he changed his statement saying that the attack took place 300 meters away from his home. There is nothing absolute about his statements.Besides, when Gauri Lankesh, one of the greatest journalist of our country was murdered brutally nobody batted an eye but when ink was thrown on Arnab's car, most of the rulling party politicians went berserk. Prakash Javedkar, the information and broadcasting minister hurriedly issued a statement. Jagat Prakash Nadda, national president of the BJP tweeted expressing shock.Arnab Goswami has already been biased in the recent times and we have seen multiple false reportings from him. Yes, if the attack actually happened the attackers must be punished but untill then we should focus on the multiple FIRs which have been lodged against Arnab Goswami for his controversial comments on Sonia Gandhi and The Supreme Court on Friday granted journalist Arnab Goswami three weeks' protection from any "coercive action" against him by police in a hate case. The above facts against Goswami if found to be false, then it can be said that this whole attack was fake and a politically driven propaganda to blame the Congress Party for his self satisfaction and drive off the people's attention from his communal comments against Sonia Gandhi and the lodged FIRs against him.
On april 16th, 2020 three men including 2 saints and their driver were lynched by an armed mob in Maharashtra's Palghar district. Some days later videos of the incident were circulated in various social media sites and was stated that it was a communally motivated crime committed by some people from the muslim community. One such video of the hateful crime was spread claiming that a person shouted "maar Shoaib maar". But after a very thorough inspection the claim was stated as false and the original statement was" bass oye bas" revealing the fact that their was no such person named Shoaib involved. On tweeter ,Film director Ashoke Pandit claimed the accused to be Shoaib. Suresh Chavhanke, editor in chief of Sudarshan news also claimed that he can hear the word Shoaib. Many politicians like Richa Pandey Mishra from Delhi BJP also tweeted the false information without proper verification . This false communal statement gathered 2700 retweets. Uddhav thackeray, hon'ble CM of Maharashtra stated that many of the accused have been arrested and proper investigation will be done. According to sources, the three men were attacked as a result of misidentification as the villagers heard rumours about presence of thieves in the area and mistook the saints as the culprits. Had the people been more careful and believed in verified information, 3 innocent lives could have been saved. This is how false information affects our lives. Dont believe in hoaxes, verify the information personally to stay clear of any conflicts.
Hunger is always a big problem in the biggest democracy of the world. But a 12 feet long king cobra was never a solution. On April 20, NDTV, one of the leading news channels of India published a news. According to it, few tribals of Arunachal Pradesh killed a 12 feet long king cobra for meal due to the scarcity of food. However,it looks like the news itself is more poisonous than the snake actually. However, BJP leader Kiren Rijiju slammed NDTV and this incident in one of his own tweets. Rijiju fully denied this news and said neither he nor his party supports hunting. Instead of removing the earlier tweet, NDTV replied to Rijiju's tweet by saying that the story is updated and clarification of state government is published. This is a schoolboy mistake for a channel of NDTV's level. This type of news always creates a tension. So the channel needs to be very sensible and confident about the authenticity of the news. We request all our viewers to verify a news before spreading it or even believing it. And we are requesting them to stay away from king cobra also.
