The rumours about North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un’s health began to swirl after he missed the 15 April commemoration of the 108th birthday of his grandfather, North Korea founder Kim Il Sung. Amid the speculations, a viral video falsely claimed that it shows exclusive footage of the funeral of Kim Jong-Un. Rather, it is a 2011 video which shows the body of his father, Kim Jong Il lying at a palace.
A video clip showing a group of men pelting stones at a building is viral with the false claim that it's an incident in Bihar and the alleged perpetrators are from the minority community, while the so-called victim – Sunny Gupta – is a Hindu. The caption this video is being shared with communalises the incident and incites people by suggesting it will go unnoticed because the 'victim is a Hindu'.
An old video is being falsely used to claim that people in the Jamalpur area of Gujarat’s Ahmedabad are flouting lockdown rules. The video shows several people coming out of a mosque and a person is heard saying that Section 144 is in place. The person asks, “Don’t the rules apply to you?”
A video showing a person confronting a policeman is being shared to insinuate that Muslims are not cooperating with the cops during the coronavirus lockdown and are demanding the Police to open mosques and allow prayers.
A message has gone viral on social media, stating that China is set to abandon its currency peg with the United States dollar (USD) in stock exchange transactions. However, BOOM did not find any official announcement supporting the claim. The People's Bank of China (PBOC) - China's central bank - is still setting daily exchange rates in line with its currency regime, with one of its deputy governor stating that he saw a continuation of the peg in the near future, at 7 yuan to the dollar.
A two-year-old photo from Uttar Pradesh is being shared with a false claim that Muslims in Tamil Nadu are flouting lockdown rules during Ramzan to offer night prayers. The picture that shows a large crowd of Muslim men praying is from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh from 2018, before the lockdown was implemented in March 2020, following a novel Coronavirus outbreak in India.
A morphed image of West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is doing the rounds on social media with claims that the former is close to the Hindu nationalist organisation and thus an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP. The image shows Dhankhar and Bhagwat in the RSS uniform. BOOM found that Dhankhar's face has been morphed to be included in the photograph, which is at least six years old.
Recently, an online portal Boom Live, which incidentally is accredited by IFCN (International Fact-Checking Network) as a fact-checker, ran a story about Justice Muralidhar’s transfer from Delhi court. The story was hosted by none other than the controversial journalist Faye D’Souza, who insinuated that Justice Muralidhar was abruptly transferred by the central government after he pulled up the government and the Delhi Police in a midnight hearing in the Delhi anti-CAA riots.

In her video, Faye asserted that Justice Muralidhar was summarily transferred by the central government because of his critical remarks against the Delhi Police and his directives to the police to issue FIRs against politicians alleged of making provocative speeches.
